About National Scandal
National Scandal is one of New York City’s most versatile, established sketch comedy teams appearing regularly at The Peoples Improv Theater (The PIT)and sketch festivals across the country. The members also have performed at iconic comedy clubs, such as the Upright Citizen’s Brigade, Carolines and Hollywood Improv in Los Angeles. National Scandal has earned critical praise for its smart, observational, often satirical, always original sketches that defy ordinary labels. The seasoned cast, which includes Jenifer Bloodsworth, Jonathan Desley, Josh Krebs, Sarah Nowak and Meghan O’Malley, recently celebrated its seventh anniversary. Critics have praised the troupe calling them “talented and hilarious.” Podcast host Iliana Inoncencio, said, “They are the cool kids you wish you could’ve hung out with in high school.”
About the Cast Members
JENIFER BLOODSWORTH - Jen is a veteran entertainer who has performed at some of the country’s top comedy clubs, including The PIT, Upright Citizens Brigade and Carolines on Broadway in NYC as well as top clubs in Chicago, Los Angeles, Boston, Toronto and Miami. She was a writer/producer at the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and opened for Mick Foley’s national tour. Other performances include “Late Night with Petey-Z“ and “A Memory, a Monologue, a Rant and a Prayer.” Jen has taught sketch and comedy writing at The PIT and is also an actress who was featured in “The Watchers.” She graduated from Emerson College with a degree in writing for TV and film and trained at the Upright Citizens Brigade and The PIT. JONATHAN DESLEY - Jonathan is a writer and actor whose credits include "A Date with Katie Haller", "PITtv" and "Latchkey." He has been involved with several sketch comedy teams at The PIT since 2006, including The Wilhelm and Borealis. He created "The Dinner Party," an improvised dinner party, and has acted in numerous commercials, including Carmax, "ABC News" and "ESPN." Jonathan has performed with the New York Dinner Theater at various venues. He graduated with a degree in theater from SUNY-Albany. Fun fact -- Jonathan believes he is the only improviser in New York to be a certified real-estate appraiser. MORE
JOSH KREBS - Josh is a comedic actor, writer and producer formerly from Dallas who has been writing and performing in NYC for seven years. He produced a solo show, "Maniac." In addition to National Scandal, he performs with Gas Station Horror, the Jon Twitcherman Sketch Program and co-hosts Bloody Date Night, a horror-themed podcast. He has written for Welcome to Hell, Old School Sketch Show and This Live Show. He has performed in more than a dozen theater and film productions, from Shakespeare to indies, such as "Karen," which is making the short-film circuit. He is currently featured in National Scandal's most recent video, "Netflix Apocalypse." Josh graduated from Marymount Manhattan College with a degree in theater. He has also trained at The PIT, the T. Schreiber Studios and at Collin College. MORE
SARAH NOWAK - Sarah is an award-winning graduate of the legendary Second City Conservatory in Toronto. She was named one of the Fresh Faces of Comedy at the 2013 Just for Laughs Festival and has been performing in New York for 15 years. In addition to National Scandal, she performs with The Baldwins every Saturday at The PIT's main stage. It is one of NYC's longest-running improv shows. Sarah also performs with Midnight Society at Caveat, the all-female sketch team The Box, has written for "Reductress" and been featured on TV on IFC's "Bunk" and the "Reductress" pilot. She was featured in the short film, "Who Knows?" Sarah teaches improv classes at The PIT. The comedic actress has also performed in several stage productions, including Shakespeare's "Macbeth," "Les Femmes Savants" and "All in the Timing." MORE
MEGHAN O'MALLEY - Meghan is a writer, actress and producer and has performed across the country, including Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, Atlanta and Nashville. She produces and performs in "Barely Making It," a stand up comedy show. The show is also performed in Los Angeles. She has written and performed in numerous shows, including "The Holiday Letter," "Awkward Sex and the City" and "Writer's Block: An Adventure You Choose." Her film credits include "Trap Door," "Never Let Them See You Sweat" and "Death Lives." Meghan has trained at the Upright Citizens Brigade, The PIT and The Magnet. She is featured in National Scandal's just released video, "Netflix Apocalypse." MORE
